Illegal Refill are a Philadelphia improv group made up of Nick Kerrr, Nick Mirra, Amie Roe, Scott Sheppard, and Alexis Simpson. In this podcast, Amie and the Nicks talk about their monthly show at Studio 34 and perform an improv set live on-air.The group will be performing at Studio 34 (4522 Baltimore) in West Philadelphia at 10PM. when I first heard them talk about putting the blindfolds on...I immediately knew this was a huge mistake. Closing off your visual access to the other performers puts the improvisor in their own head space, a dangerouse place to be when improvising.
ReplyDeleteHopefully by now the group Illigal Refill has discontinued the practice of employing blindfolds.
it is interesting that after going a painfully long time without coming up with anything funny, the female "comic" immediately resorts to conjuring dicks, fucks,farts, and titties in an attempt to salvage the disaster.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great example of improvisers forming groups and performing before they are ready and have learned their craft.
