LOCAL COMEDY NEWS: Chip Chantry's One-Man Show (with Special Guests)

With a New Year there are new hopes, new beginnings and new chances to make people laugh. Turns out when the monthly show Die, Actor, Die ended its two-year run last month, that wasn't the end of live comedy at The Khyber. Stand-up comic Chip Chantry will be starting his new monthly show aptly named CHIP CHANTRY'S ONE-MAN SHOW (WITH SPECIAL GUESTS) this upcoming Monday the 12th and every third Monday after then.

How's the show going to go down, Chip? "Each show, I will generally go out, guns blazing, with song, dance, monologues a go-go. But they will most likely be received rather cooly. That's when I will 'bend' the one-man-show code of conduct, and invite Philadelphia's funniest comedians, sketch artists, and the like to pick up the slack. Then, at the end, I will go back out onstage and take all the credit for what has happened."

The show will be put together with Chip's longtime friend and quizzo master Johnny Goodtimes. "We have been working together for over five years now, collaborating on dozens of projects. And we have not once been successful, respected, or even taken seriously. But we really feel like this show will change all of that."
