Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer (aka Spinal Tap) to tour, play Philadelphia 5/14

For years, I thought This Is Spinal Tap was a straight-up rock/roll documentary about a rock/roll band. I thought Rob Reiner took on the character of "Marty DiBergi" on screen because it was one of his first directing jobs and he needed an alter ego. And then, years later, I see the same three guys in a folk group in the film A Mighty Wind and I just figured, "ok, they changed their names and started a folk band, I can totally believe that."

Well, it turns out that all this time, those were actors, specifically three actors: Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer. And for the first time ever they will be performing songs by Spinal Tap and The Folksmen as just themselves in their UNWIGGED & UNPLUGGED Tour.

They are coming to Philadelphia and tickets went on-sale like 20 minutes ago:

Unwigged and Unplugged
Thursday, May 14th
8PM
$47.50-$62.50

Here's a preview of what you can expect, minus the wigs and electricity, of course.

Spinal Tap - "Big Bottom"

The Folksmen - "Old Joe's Place"
